Editorial Standards & Disclosures

The Investor Narrative is an independent publication founded and published by Tom Krutilek. It examines private capital markets, investment strategy, corporate governance, AI, and the decisions that influence business growth, capital allocation, and long-term value creation.

Our purpose is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based analysis that helps founders, CEOs, board members, investors, and other decision-makers better understand complex developments, evaluate competing perspectives, and exercise informed judgment.

Editorial Independence

The Investor Narrative reflects the independent analysis and editorial judgment of its publisher.

Editorial conclusions are developed based on available evidence, professional experience, and reasoned interpretation—not to promote the interests of companies, investors, or other organizations discussed in the publication.

The publisher also engages in professional advisory and governance activities. These activities inform the publication's perspective but do not determine its editorial conclusions.

Material professional, financial, or other relationships that could reasonably affect a reader's assessment of a particular article will be disclosed when relevant.

Research, Sources & Analysis

We strive to make our analysis accurate, balanced, understandable, and useful.

Our editorial approach emphasizes:

  • Credible sourcing. Wherever practical, we rely on primary sources, including regulatory filings, company disclosures, financial reports, original research, and other authoritative materials. Relevant sources are identified or linked so readers can examine the underlying evidence.
  • Facts and interpretation. We distinguish established facts from analytical judgments, assumptions, scenarios, and forward-looking assessments.
  • Context and limitations. Financial figures, market developments, and company-specific examples are presented with sufficient context to help readers understand their significance and limitations.
  • Constructive analysis. Our objective is not simply to report developments, but to explore their implications, trade-offs, risks, and potential consequences.

Published analysis reflects the information reasonably available at the time of publication. Market conditions, company circumstances, and subsequent disclosures may change.

Our Editorial Perspectives

The Investor Narrative presents analysis through four complementary editorial perspectives:

  • Lead Analysis examines significant market, technology, financial, and strategic developments and their broader implications.
  • Founder/CEO View considers the strategic and operating decisions facing company leadership.
  • Board Judgment focuses on governance, oversight, risk, and the exercise of independent judgment.
  • Investor Perspective evaluates capital allocation, economic sustainability, financial risk, and investability.

These categories identify the perspective and purpose of an article. They do not imply that analytical conclusions are universally applicable or that differing interpretations are necessarily incorrect.

Professional Relationships & Disclosures

The publisher's professional activities include advising companies on capital readiness, investor strategy, growth, and governance.

Where an article discusses an organization with which the publisher has a material advisory, governance, ownership, or financial relationship, that relationship will be disclosed when relevant to the analysis, subject to applicable confidentiality obligations.

The Investor Narrative does not present paid promotional material as independent editorial analysis. Any sponsored content or material commercial support influencing published coverage will be clearly identified.

References to companies, investors, products, or transactions should not be interpreted as endorsements unless expressly stated.

Corrections & Updates

We are committed to addressing substantive factual errors promptly and transparently.

Minor typographical, formatting, or nonsubstantive clarifications may be corrected without a formal notice. Material factual corrections will generally be accompanied by a dated explanation identifying the nature of the change.

Articles may also be updated when subsequent developments materially affect their relevance or interpretation. When an update substantively changes the analysis, it will be identified appropriately.

Readers who identify a possible error or wish to provide relevant additional information are encouraged to contact the publication.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools may assist with research organization, the exploration of alternative perspectives, drafting, editing, and the evaluation of arguments.

AI-generated information is not treated as an independent source of authority. Material factual claims are evaluated against relevant supporting evidence, and editorial conclusions remain the responsibility of the author.

The use of AI does not replace independent analysis, source evaluation, or professional judgment.

Important Information

The Investor Narrative publishes general analysis and commentary for informational and educational purposes. Its content does not constitute personalized investment, legal, tax, or financial advice.

Discussion of specific companies, securities, investment strategies, or transactions should not be interpreted as a recommendation to buy, sell, or undertake any particular investment or business decision.

Readers should consider their own circumstances and consult appropriate professional advisers where necessary.
